Biography

Hi!
My name is Roberto Civinelli. I am a Musician, guitarist, composer-arranger, and sound engineer
My main musical instrument is the guitar, which I discovered when I was a little child because my grandfather used to play it. Still, the strong desire to understand every aspect of this beautiful thing called music (that I have heard a lot since then, thanks to my father, who is a CD and vinyl record collector) drove me to study composition and arranging, too. Since my first musical experiences with young bands, I have always had a lot of fun trying to modify and create variations on the cover songs we used to play
In addition to this, I also had a strong interest in technology applied to music, whether it be an audio mixer, a computer, or a light dimmer controller. When I was in primary school, I didn't play any part in the nativity play, but I worked as an audio and lighting technician, and I was thrilled to use gear that most of the other children didn't even know how to turn on.
Many years later, these technological interests leaned towards digital audio recording and the use of DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations).
Trying to "connect the dots," quoting Steve Jobs, I see that all of these interests have something in common: the act of creating and modifying something, little by little, from roughness to perfection
The perfect sound of an acoustic guitar miked perfectly in the right acoustic environment, the detail of the choice of a picking motion instead of another, adding track after track to a session in a DAW, is like many many bricks that little by little build that house, which is the song I am writing. That "house" was roughly created with the art of composition and carefully shaped and shined with the arrangement.
I learned to master all of these skills by studying a lot, choosing an academic path at the Conservatory of Rovigo (Jazz Guitar and classical composition), but also learning a lot by myself, making a lot of different musical experiences, playing in many different bands (original projects and cover bands), entertaining bands, acoustic duo and trios, musical, big bands (more on this in the specific site section).
I still have this passion in my job today!
Whatever it is—a live performance, a song recording, a guitar part for your song, an arrangement or a new composition—I always feel that I am creating something unique, with the will to reach perfection, not only for customer satisfaction but also for my satisfaction, the satisfaction of knowing that I created something beautiful.
I played in many different projects
Today, I am into these:
Roberto Civinelli (my solo project): My first single is "Doin' the Left Thing," and I am working on many other songs for a record that will be out soon.
RaRo Acoustic duo: this is the acoustic formation with my fiancee, Raffaella Cafagna, who is a singer and vocal coach ( www.raffaellacafagna.com )

Our energetic, intense, yet light approach to music leads us to perform shows with excellent audience engagement. The music is rearranged for guitar and voice in a repertoire that is predominantly rock, pop-rock, and blues, both foreign and Italian. We can also offer themed repertoires (only blues, Italian, etc.).
Visit us on social media by searching for RaRo Acoustic Duo on FB and YT.
Raffaella Cafagna & kePsaT
This band bears the name of Raffaella, as she is the founder and the leading composer. Still, since I joined this beautiful formation, I have had an essential impact on the choice of arrangements for both the original pieces written by Raffaella and arranged by me and the band, as well as the covers. It is a project where I often find myself having to invent guitar lines that must also compensate for the absence of a keyboardist, making it very challenging but engaging at the same time.
The repertoire, original and cover, has influences of rock, pop, funk, and soul. You can find the kePsaT on IG and FB.
Findi kePsaT on IG and FB.
Colpa D'Alfredo: This is a Vasco Rossi tribute band featuring talented musicians from Rovigo, Ferrara, and Bologna.
Rock Legend: the show that pays tribute to many immortal Rock Legends, playing concerts featuring 4 to 6 sets, each dedicated to a different legend, with performers alternating in front of an exceptional resident band, the Giullari, a historical band from Ferrara.
I play Slash in the set dedicated to Guns and Roses!
